Yvonne Atkinson
Yvonne studied art at school and at teacher training college.
Now retired, after a career firstly in primary schools and later in secondary education special needs teaching, she has, in recent years, returned to painting as a major hobby, working mainly in watercolour and acrylics.
Yvonne is a keen member of the Up Holland Artists Society, and has been active in recruiting guest demonstrators for the society’s meetings.
She has painted local scenes of Wigan and Standish; also seascapes and Lakeland scenes. Her work has been exhibited in Bolton and Southport, and also in Shevington and Standish libraries.
Frequent visits to Sicily have provided different and contrasting landscapes and townscapes as subject material, and her next exhibition will take place in January 2007 in the Nuova Galleria Roma, Siracusa, Sicily.
She is available for commissioned work on request.
